Veritas’ long/short Real Return Asian Fund has been awarded the AsiaHedge Fund of the Year Award 2009.
The Real Return Asian Fund, launched in October 2004, was nominated alongside Brevan Howard Asia, HDH Master Fund, Prowess of Japan and Riley Paterson.
The Fund of the Year Award looks beyond a fund’s one year performance. Size and performance over a significantly longer time frame are important criteria.
The Real Return Asian Fund’s strong 12 month return to September 09, solid performance in 2008 and consistent performance since inception, placed the fund in a good winning position. The fund’s low volatility and Sharpe ratio were also contributing factors.
